Real Experiences with ScoliBrace® – Often the best way to understand the impact of something is through the story of someone who has experienced it firsthand. In this blog, we’re sharing Anita’s inspiring journey with ScoliBrace and how it’s helped her find confidence and strength.
Anita’s Journey: Embracing the Change
Anita first discovered her scoliosis at age 12 when she noticed something unusual about her posture. Initially told she might “grow out of it,” her family sought further answers as her condition persisted. For Anita, the idea of surgery felt overwhelming, so learning about ScoliBrace as an option brought her relief.
“I got to choose the color—she’s pink and I call her Brenda,” Anita laughs, highlighting the connection she’s developed with her brace.
Adjusting to wearing a brace full-time was challenging at first. “At first, I didn’t know how I’d manage wearing it for 18 months, 23 hours a day,” Anita admits. “But the more I wore it, the easier it became”. Alongside her bracing, Anita follows a scoliosis-specific exercise program (ScoliBalance) and attends regular appointments to track her progress.
Her message to others facing a similar journey? “It’s going to be okay. I’ve realized it’s something different about me, something that’s unique”.
Questions about Bracing?
You might have already started on your bracing journey, or may be considering if bracing is right for you. Either way, it’s natural to have lots of questions. There are many different types of braces for scoliosis bracing, but not all braces are made the same.
The ScoliBrace is a custom made brace, designed and made for each individual patient. For kids and teens, the brace’s over-corrective approach and asymmetrical design harnesses spinal coupling, not 3 point pressure, for the best possible clinical outcomes.
