Managing Adult De-Novo Degenerative Scoliosis and Hyperkyphosis with ScoliBrace®
At 78 years old, the patient visited the ScoliCare clinic after a recent diagnosis of Adult De-Novo Degenerative Scoliosis and Hyperkyphosis. She had been experiencing constant pain in her left ribs, functional decline, and friends were noticing a rapid deterioration in her posture. An earlier X-ray revealed a hyperkyphosis measurement of 83° with a 21° scoliosis.
Within just two months, her hyperkyphosis progressed to 95°, a 12° increase in that short time without treatment. The patient was prescribed a part-time ScoliBrace® treatment plan to manage the progression and symptoms.
